Weekly summary 20/2021

Hi,

this is a summary of what was going in the doll world in the 20th week of 2021, as far as we at Dollstudio & DS Doll Europe were concerned.

1) Coronavirus situation. a) The situation in general. In some European countries, lockdowns have been partially lifted. Though, the old normal is still not back. Reported injuries and deaths from or with the Corona injections keep climbing up with frightening pace. Corona ripple effects like supply chain disruptions and inflationionary tendencies are becoming part of everydays life.

With 55 studies including 28 Randomized Controlled Trials (RCTs) reporting positive effects of Ivermectin, there is sufficient research proving the efficacy of Covid-19 prophylaxis and treatment protocols like I-MASK+ and MATH+ available. Also, as reported in the Lancet, inhalation of Budesonid can reduce the probability of severe courses of disease by 90%. These are clear indications that the SARS-CoV-2 virus is similarily managable like any other easily transmissible virus. For what plausible reason is treatment and prophylaxis with Ivermectin or Budesonid still suppressed? #FollowtheScience.

b) Impact on the doll business. International transit times for doll shipments require a lot of patience, though all shipments to Europe which departed in March have now been delivered. Shipping to destinations in North America is a lot faster and UPS carries more doll shipments.

2) New arrivals.

This week, seven new heads were introduced:

• Doll House 168 ›Akane‹ anime/manga head - TPE
• JY Doll ›Xiujie‹ head - silicone
• JY Doll ›Xiu Yang‹ head - silicone
• SE Doll ›Bonnie‹ head (= SE no. 100) - TPE
• Xycolo ›Angela‹ oral head (= XC-Angela) - silicone
• Zelex G44 head (= ZE-G44) - silicone
• Zelex G45 head (= ZE-G45) - silicone

Also, four new body styles were released:

• New arrivals: Doll House 168 DH21-90/E body style - TPE / ~90 cm / ~12 kg (2021 series)
• New arrivals: JY Doll JY-163/E body style - silicone / 163 cm / 38 kg
• New arrivals: Secrether ZC-155/B body style - silicone / ~155 cm / ~23 kg
• New arrivals: Zelex ZES-165/F body style - silicone / ~165 cm / ~36 kg

No new head variants of existing heads were introduced.

3) Industry news.

This regular column report about things like noteworthy events, model line changes, business updates, technical updates, and dolls in development.

Also, since March 14th, 2021, TDF-accredited vendors are no longer allowed to link to "pages that promote dolls that are disallowed at TDF", including their own shop websites. This is a historical milestone. Additionally, numerous pictures by popular photographers like Mizuwali (e.g. Piper Doll) and Mandos (WM Dolls) habe been dissaproved by TDF management.
